Year 4 Dance Festival
Lesson: Physical education
Class: Year 4 Wrens Year: 2014 - 2015
On Wednesday night, Miss Schofield's class took part in a Dance festival at the Heber High School. Along with other schools from the local area, Year 4 performed their dance in front of a packed hall.
It was an energetic start and we were treated to some street dance from pupils at the High School.
Each school picked a theme based around a piece of art work. Shocklach junior children did a wonderful dance inspired by the work of Lowry, using the music matchstick men and matchstick cats and dogs. Their performance even included brooms and umbrellas! Tushingham didn't even need music. They played their own instruments to create a dance based on Greek myths and legends. Malpas were walking like Egyptians and pupils from Bickerton performed a dance based on the work by Cezanne. Tilston had made their own shirts and created a dance based on the grafitti artist Banksy.
Our children's performance was based on their work on aboriginal art. With their tie dye shirts, face paint and styled hair, the pupils produced a fantastic dance full of energy and quick steps. We were all so proud of them and they performed so confidently.
A big thank you for all the parents for their support and also huge thanks to Miss Schofield who worked so hard to create and practise the dance. All their hardwork certainly paid off.
