World Book Day

Lesson: English

On Thursday 7th March it was World Book Day and as always we celebrated in a big way.

One year we used potatoes to create our favourite book characters. This year, the challenge was to make a book in a jar. As always, we had so many entries, making judging difficult.

The theme in each class was texts with animals. The Reception children had a very exciting morning finding clues that a dragon had been in the school field. Year 4 made some monster book marks. We hope today will continue to inspire our pupils to read for pleasure as often as possible.

Well done to the winning jars. Peter Rabbit in Key Stage 2. Superworm in Key Stage 1 and The Gingerbread Man in Early Years. It was so nice to see the pupils had clearly researched the book for ideas to put into their jar.
