Junior Sports Day
Well we were lucky with the weather and sports day for the Juniors went ahead without being washed out with the rain.
The were several really competitive races such as the sprints and the 200 metres. And of course no primary school sports day would be complete without the egg and spoon and sack race.
Each child, as well as competing individually for 1st, 2nd or 3rd, were trying to earn points for their House. Team captains played tactical jokers so that if their team mate won, it would mean double points.
All through the afternoon the points were so tight - at one stage only 4 points separated 3 Houses. But their could only be one winner and the throwing events made a huge difference.
Sycamore: 472 points
Willow: 449 points
Beech: 436 points
Maple: 418 points
So this year, Sycamore ran out worthy winners, and House captains Daniel Smith and Niamh Kirk lifted the trophy. A big thank you to Mr Bond for working hard organising the afternoon.
