Netball Champions

Miss Brown and Mrs Goodfellow, our Netball coaches, took two teams to the Heber netball tournament. After several years of Tattenhall dominance, we were hoping that this year would be our year! We took two teams and they both adapted well to being in the tournament, with everyone enjoying being in that environment, working together and really focussing on what their coaches had been talking about in training - footwork, distance and creating space.

Both teams were drawn in the same group and it was a tough one, with Malpas and Tattenhall. Our Red team gave it their all against some very strong teams.  It was 3 losses but they scored a point and gained valuable experience for next year as most of the team were Year 5.

Our Blue team were a force to be reckoned with from the very first whistle and this did not stop. Their passing was strong and fast, defence through to attack, making great interceptions all over the court. Eloise and Rosie just couldn't stop scoring! beat Malpas 6 - 0 and Tattenhall 5 - 0. Confidence was high going into the semi-final agaisnt Tushingham. They eased passed them and met Malps again in the final. They were unstoppable and clinched the title for 2025.

After making the final, the Blues went on to win and bring the glorious golden trophy back to Farndon, after some great support and encouragement from the Red team. It was a real squad effort with weeks and weeks of practise. All our netballers can be so proud of themselves. Great team work, enthusiasm and fantastic matches.  massive well done to every single member of the squad.

Player of the match for the Red team: Layla (you can probably tell why from the pictures as her face is so red from all the running!)

Player of the match for the Blue team: Polly.
