Football Cup Match

Our first game of the season and it was a tense cup match against St Oswalds.

We started brightly but we got caught out with our high press strategy. One ball through and we were 1 - 0 down. But the team responded well. A lovely back heel from Caleb put Oliver CB in and he finished.

Just before half time, Alex showed some quick thinking with a throw. Oliver CB raced clear and made it 2 - 1.

In the second half, we were on the back foot. Their number 11 was a constant threat. They put a superb ball through our defence and it was 2 - 2.

We became a bit disjointed and were under a bit of pressure. We were grateful to James G who was solid at the heart of our defence. With just seconds left, Oliver CB raced through down the left and neatly finished. It was tense but we just edged it 3 - 2. 

Second round of the cup here we come! It was a great team performance but man of the match has to go to Oliver CB with his crucial hat trick. Well done to everyone and a big thank you to all the parents for their support.
