Football Cup Match

Farndon Year 5 and 6 football team had reached the semi-finals of the Chester cup for the first time and they faced Dee Point at home. Dee Point were flying high in their league and the team knew they were in for a tough match. 

We started well with Todd and Tom linking up beautifully together. After 5 minutes, Tom and Todd had put us 2 - 0 ahead, both were sweet strikes. 

Dee Point pulled one back and then they had a period where they began to dominate. Just before half time, Daniel scored to make it 3 - 1. It was a good time to score and gave the team confidence. Daniel then followed it up with another to make it 4 - 1. 

After the break, we dominated possession and looked to finish the game off. Daniel went on to complete a memorable hat-trick and Tom put the icing on the cake to make it 6 - 1 with one of his rasping long range shots. 

It was a terrific team performance and we look forward to the semi-finals against Belgrave. Man of the match has to go to Daniel in Year 5. His best performance in a Farndon shirt and took his goals well. Second in the league with games in hand and a semi-final to come; can we keep this unbeaten run going and make the end of the season an historic one.
