Citizen of the Year
The Good Citizenship award, is an award that we present in the Summer term. The award goes to children who have been outstanding citizens within their class. This can include supporting others, being a good role model, working hard or being friendly to others and being well mannered and pleasant. A good citizen is also someone who respects other and their views and are helpful and considerate towards everyone. They also show a respect of the environment around them.
Each citizen of the year is voted for by the children within their class. When children receive citizenship awards, their positive behaviour is in reinforced and teachers are given the opportunity to reward good behaviour. Self-esteem and confidence is improved for the award recipients and it promotes good behaviour in the classroom.
Well done to all our class winners. I hope you all feel immensely proud that your class mates and peers selected you as their Citizen of the Year.
