Basketball Tournament

Recently, as a school, we took part in the Chester Phoenix Hoops for Health programme. Members of the Phoenix team came in to school to talk to the children about how to lead a healthy lifestyle and then came back to lead several after school basketball training sessions.

Because we took part in this programme, we got the chance to play in another basketball tournament on the Chester Phoenix court before their match. We played against 3 other schools. The team performed well and managed to win 2 of their 3 matches. This meant we qualified for the final - the match taking place at the half time interval in front of hundreds of people!

It was a tremendous atmosphere and we faced Overleigh in the final. The team gave it their all but lost out 6 - 0 in the final. However, it was an experience the team will never forget for a long time. A big thank you to team coach Mr McKie who did a great job this year preparing the team.
