Athletics Victory

Our Year 3 and 4 athletics team competed in the Broxton Indoor Athletics tournament on Thursday. We took a team of 10 girls and 10 boys and they competed against other local schools such as Tilston, Malpas and Tattenhall in the Heber High School Sports Hall. 

Each person within the team took part in several sprint races in pairs or small groups. They sprinted across the hall and at the wall they had to plant their foot on a kick board, turn and push off. As well as the sprint races, they also took part in a range of field events. There were the throwing events with chest push and javelin and jumps such as vertical jump, long jump and speed bounce. 

The team gave their it all and their were some strong performances throughout each of the events. With a score of 30 points, our team came first and were closely followed by Tilston and Tattenhall in joint second place. A huge well done to Mr Bond and our 20 athletes.
