Welcome to my new Headteacher's weekly blog. After the first week back in school, it feels like we have never been away.
I was so proud to see how well the new children in Reception and in other classes settled into life at our school. Needless to say, when I visited the Year 4 and Year 5 children, they had huge grins on their faces ( along with the teachers ) as their classrooms had had a much needed face lift. The interiors now look like an IKEA showroom!
Having looked through each classes medium term planning, I am so excited to see the new topics relating to the new curriculum. The Year 3 and 4 children have got wonderful caves set up in their rooms and have even been blogging a Stoneage caveman - Ug - describing their own "caves" at home ( their bedrooms of course ).
A big thank you to the Year 6 pupils who were so wonderfully behaved at their residential. Both staff and pupils have come back buzzing about the experience and there are plenty of photographs for Parents to view.
And the start of this week brought great excitement with the Bike race tearing through the streets of Farndon. Most of the school came out to cheer the riders on and hopefully it inspired a new generation of cyclists.
