Headteacher's blog Week Beginning 19th January
Date: 23rd Jan 2015 @ 8:56am
Half way through the first half term already. Where is the time going?
This week the children had a wonderful time, taking part in the Junior Chef Academy. All classes took part and they looked wonderful in their aprons and chef hats. I spoke to some children and they all said how much they enjoyed it. Cookery is clearly an area of the curriculum the pupils enjoy and as a school we will need to think how we can deliver this as it is not easy, as obviously need kitchen space. The food they made looked delicious - and I never got to taste any! Parents can take a look at the pics on the gallery page.
A big thank you to the parents who braved the cold weather to attend the E-Safety talk in school on Thursday. The talk proved very interesting and was well received. On the night, I also launched the new parent log in so parents could access the forum page. After a successful test, I hope to introduce to all parents in the very near future.
E-Safety is very important to us as a school and forms a large part of our computing curriculum. This week in Year 6 the children had great fun testing passwords and finding out how long it would take to crack them! And in Year 2 they learnt E-Safety through One Direction - much to Mrs Bayley's delight! In the next few weeks, it is Safer Internet Day and as a school we will look this in assemblies and discussion on the VLE.
