Headteacher Weekly blog week beginning 14th September

Date: 19th Sep 2015 @ 11:35am

This week started on a particularly exciting note for me as it was the long awaited football match against Tarvin - my son's school. I was a very proud dad when my son led out the Tarvin Under 7s as captain.

However, I put family feelings aside and focused on Farndon's preparations. The rain didn't spoil a fantastic afternoon of football. Our Year 3 and 4 team played so well and were on top most of the game, but it ended 1 -1 . Then, it was the under 7s! After going a goal down we fought back to a 3 - 1 victory (it was a long night in the Walker household after that one!). Finally, the Year 5 and 6 team showed flashes of what they are capable and went ahead several times but the game finished with a 3 -2 defeat.

This week we had the School Council elections. It was really nice to see children elected who have joined our school recently. I am looking forward to seeing their impact throughout the year, supported by Grace and her Tomorrow Party. Their first job is to prepare for the visit of our local MP who is coming to see the school and meet the winners of our general election.

We are busy with the start of the rugby season and we have held training sessions for our 2 teams. The Year 5 and 6 team battled bravely in their tournament winning 1 and drawing 1, but got knocked out at the group stage. I will be taking the Year 3 and 4 team next Thursday so we hope to push on a little further a defend our trophy.

I look forward to another busy week and showcase our school and all our hard work to our local councillor Howard Greenwood and our local MP.
