Head's blog Week beginning 3rd November
Date: 9th Nov 2014 @ 7:43pm
Well after a weekoff school, it is like we have never been away.
It was Parents Evening this week and it was so nice to hear many positive Parent comments after their meeting with the class teacher.
This week I spent some time teaching Year 5 and 6 children in their streamed maths and literacy groupings. I saw first hand the postive impact it is having and I must say had some really enjoyable mornings teaching tense and scary narrative writing and mutliples and factors in the maths. What was so clear to me was the positive attitude of the pupils, their enthusiasm and the progress they have made already this Autumn term.
Next week, is Rememberance Day in school and we are marking the 100 year anniversary of World War I across the whole school. Throughout the week, the children are taking part in activities to help the pupils remember the sacrifice of those men who fought in the Great War. We have a drama workshop, sharing letters from the front and the Upper Juniors are to experience an Evacuation experience at Tatton to mark World War II. Reverend Captain David Scurr will lead the School's Rememberance assembly and the last post will be played. I am sure it will be an enjoyable week, but also one with an important message.
