European Day of Languages

Class: Ladybirds Year: 2018 - 2019

Wednesday was the day of European Day of languages. All the children across the school engaged in activities relating to the French language. 

Year 2 learnt and performed a French song and Year 1 made some tasty baguettes. In the lower juniors they studied the French artist Matisse. In the afternoon, the Year 5 and 6 opened their French cafe to the local community. They sold the onion soup they made in the morning and the croissants. 

The children made menus and took the orders from our guests. They even made prompts with the French language to help them speak in a foreign language.

It was a great day and a big thank you must be given to Mrs Cornforth and all the staff for all their hard work.
