Handball Champions

On Thursday night, we sent two handball teams to the Broxton tournament. After winning previously and coming runner up last year, we were hoping to go one better.

Farndon B team were fantastic! They won their first game against Tattenhall A 1 - 0 thanks to a crucial goal from Leo. Then, they beat Tilston 1 - 0 with yet another another goal from Leo.They followed this up with a third victory against Clutton - this time 2 - 0. Although they lost their last game, they still won the group and faced Malpas in the semi-final. We created more chances but with just seconds to go Malpas scored. It was a great effort from the team. Leo from Year 5 just edged Man of the Match.

Farndon A won all of their group games and faced Clutton in the semi-final. After a 2 - 1 victory, they squared up to Malpas in the final. We fell behind to a penalty, but the team bounced back and Tom equalised. There were chances at both ends and we were thankful to have Harry in goal; he produced some wonderful saves. Then, Tom scored the winner and it was a 2 - 1 victory. Champions once again. It was a great team effort with everyone contributing: Tom scored 6, Todd 4, Cameron 3 and Harry 1. We will have to find room for another trophy!
